100 watts to the SLCs will get them fairly loud. i'm using an arc 2100 to power my germaniums...does around 100 x 2 @ 4 ohms as well...but the amp is under-rated heh.

Update: 3/29/07

Decided to paint the dash kit exterior color. KV3 Grey. I'll be sanding / polishing when the paint has fully cured. I think it'll look nice once installed.

Kicker 0/1 Dual Amp kit came in on Wendesday. The wire is huuugee! It's going to be perfect if I ever do upgrade to something that needs more power. Flexibility is really nice on these, but they're really heavy. I think that after the install is done I'd have about 70 extra pounds or more added to the car.

Oh and yeah I've tried to do my research. It also helps when you've got a friend who's been around this forum for a while to teach you things.

At first I was going to get an Image Dynamics IDQ-12 and whatever amp I could find + rainbow speakers and connect it to the stock headunit...so I'm glad that's turned around!

yeah but we both know there's nothing wrong with an IDQ12. Lindsey's running an IDQ10 off her stock HU and it sounds perfectly fine for a really simple setup.

My friend Alex is also still running his IDQ10 in his STi that i sold him way back in high school.

And Jess.... You've been in my car so you know I don;t have any problems with turn on thump with the solid amps... that must be due to poor install on someone's part as I've never had an issue with that. I love the amps

I'm off to bed.

and yeah my car doesn't rattle THAT bad... and i have basically no deadening. Thin deadening on top of the rear deck... I majorly need some on the trunk lid and under the rear deck... but thats not going to happen until the summer when I have some free time.
