Maxima - Audio Build *N00bie*

Ah then figure the cost of gas to get there...At the moment it takes me $35 to fill up. So it'd be around $70 to go there and get back.

lol if I could get my hands on the 791 I would but I haven't found any less than $300. I'd rather not buy off of ebay though.

It's $419 installed plus the immobilizer bypass module $35, they'll program the keyless entry + trunk release and auto window roll down. 6% sales tax.

TY for the offer if I ever am in TN again I will be sure to call u up //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

wow really nice set up! very nice for a first timer too:eek: where in the GA do you live? Are you really in Atlanta?
Located near Duluth...Used to live in Sandy Springs so that's where I'm at most of the time too lol.

I wanted to get a nice setup since I don't plan on changing it out any time soon...another 3 years or so haha but as others have suggested audio is addicting so you always want the best that's out.

BTW: I really think we should get a CAF meet going in Atlanta like once a month it would be nice to meet some of the people on here.

Ohhh Maxima, had to chime in....

Getting those comps too, nice taste!

I got a 6th gen though, don't really like maxima.org, prefer 6thgenmaxima.org... .enough of my ranting, nice collection!

how much did your rainbows run you?
$185 shipped, but you can get em off of Don for $230 shipped. Most used Rainbow SLCs run around $180-190

Thanks Anthony I've been lurking around the forums, but haven't really taken the time to register. MetalMaxima is on your forums that I know. He was the one that did the whole car in damplifier and sludge and recommended your product over at maxima.org.

About the Damplifer/Damp Pro...I read on the forums though that it'd be best to layer the Damplifier and it's actually better than Damp. pro. But don't remember who said that. At the moment my budget is REALLLLY tight so I planned on just using Damplifier and maybe sludge on top.

Time for some n00bie questions...I'm trying to buy this amp kit from knuconcepts, but I need an inline fuse and distributor.

Solid Audio Amp for Sub = 1100W

Fi Q 15 dual 2 Sub @ 1Ohm

Pioneer 2 Ch Amp for speakers = 750W

Rainbow SLC 265 @ 4Ohm (125Wx2)

I'm trying to get the 1/0 kit seen here...But it asks to select a fuse.

KLM-AK0.jpg

Then for a distributor I was looking at getting this.

http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=KNF-23

So what size inline fuse should I use?

Do I need 2 distribution blocks or just 1?

Which distribution block do I get?

Are those +/- battery terminal covers needed?

For the 2ch amp I will need either 4 gauge or 8 gauge...so do I add another amp kit along with the 1/0 kit?

Lastly...I already have RCA cables, so I'll just need to get speaker wire, but what size is recommended? I was going to go with 12 Gauge Klear Cable.

Is there anything I've forgotten?

I'd like to buy all my wires from Knuconcepts and be done with it lol so if there is anything else I've missed or need let me know. Or just add what you'd get if you had this set up and were to put together your own wiring.

Oh and should I just forget about putting everything together and buy the Kicker dual amplifier kit?

Thaaankks again //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

U dont need the battery terminals if u know how u can mount the postive ring to ur battery. U need at least 1 distribution block, better if u get the fused ones. U need 1 0AWG to 2 4AWG distroblock. Then u need some 4AWG wiring for the amps (dont forget u need some 4AWG for the amp's grounds too) Then u will probably need 4AWG rings (for the grounds). Or u can get a ground distroblock and just run the 4AWGs to a 0AWG ground with the 0AWG cable.

12AWG should be fine for the speaker cable for the subs. You can probably run 14AWG or even 16AWG for the Rainbow components. But if u wanna have 1 long length of cable to cut to ur preference might as well go all 12AWG.

For the main fuse (the one in the amp kit) u fuse the wire, so 300amp fuse. Then for ur distroblock's I like to fuse what the amp's recommend, but some people say fuse for the wire there too, its ur choice.

I think thats it.

OK first things first...nice setup..if done right u will be knocking

second...just watch out 4 the hard turn on/off thump...it might scare u...that amp is good but the only problem i dont like about them is the turn on/off thump

other than that..good stuff:D

Thanks for explaining what I'd need for the set up phyphoestilic I priced everything together on the site and it would've been more than the Kicker 0/1 kit. I did want the knuconcepts kit, but I gotta save. So the kicker kit has been purchased off Ebay for $95 shipped.

Umm..one thing though.

I've compared the P780MP and P880PRS (Pioneer Premier HU's)

I really like how the P780MP looks, because it would blend in more with the dash since the face is black. The P880PRS has more features, but stands out too much in my opinion.

I won't be running active, so I thought maybe I could deal with the 780mp...What is your opinon guys? Almost everyones got the p880 so I know it's good, just wanted to know if anyone here had the 780 and their opinions. Would they have traded it to get a 880prs? I'd still like your opinions even if you don't have either HU.

Here's my photoshopped pics for reference and how each HU would look.

see if you could go with the eclipse units //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif even if you go with one of the older units you can get one with some very good output (voltage) for a good price. that is unless your completely sold on the pioneers. Just for the price

DEHP780MP PREM BURR-BROWN DAC OEL 16 EQ 286.00

DEHP880PRS "PREM MTRZD FLAP,MP3,WHITE OEL" 306.00

or thereabouts i would say an 8455 maybe.

As well if you are stuck on the pioneers i have to say the black unit as the other one is too flashy

Pretty sold on the Pioneer Premier HU's lol I like how clean/sleek they look. The eclipse looks a bit busy for me.

Ah decisions decisions...I might have to flip a coin on this one!

I personnaly think the 880prs looks really clean with the dash. Kinda blends with the AC vent area. Plus if u change the option to using the white LED lights instead of the blue it'll give it alot better classy look.

Remeber keep in mind this will probably be a hobby for u too. Never know if one day u'll decide to run active //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif the extra $50 spent now will save u $ later.
