max rms ??/

I first would like to thank the many people on here that have been offering there help for free. So i thank them very much. with all there great ideas and links and what not. I am geting close to ordering all my new stuff . I first should say a big 3 upgrade with 0 ga wire is in order with a ho alt 200 amps and a batt up front and 0 ga kit to my new amp. Its such a weird question but what kind of rms power can i run with this set up in a 1999 ford escort? i feel like 1600 rms that i was gona run seems kinda not a lot if im gona spend alot on my electrical upgrade. please offer some kind of number. mayb compair to what u are runnin or a friend. thanks so much

I ran around 1700 with nothing but the Big-3 as far as electrical upgrades in my SRT. Stock battery even. Got some dimming when it was really cranked. The battery lasted me almost 5 years with several summers in Vegas and several winters in Montana. Never even hesitated to start the car, even after I had to dig it out of a snow drift where it had been for about a week. My mother-in-law leaving the lights on and my wife not discovering it for a week or two is what finally killed it (I was out of the country).

Depending on your tastes in music and listening habits, you could run a veritable shit-ton of power with proper battery support. That much of an alt upgrade will make for easy charging of a big battery bank.

thats the thing im not gona do 2 + batts right away.i just dont wana buy a amp and be like ok i want more. im sure it happens i understand there no way other then put it in and find out lol. its just i dont wana spend 400 on a amp and it sounds good but i want more. or even the worse case i gota add more batts. i think my issue now is at idle not when im driving. so i get dimming at idle with 4 12s off of lets say 1800 rms thats ok as long its around 13.0 v close to full tilt

wiring two batts in parralel is what you will do. POS to POS and NEG to NEG. Exactly that. Nothing more, nothing less. As for fuses. you can put a fuseblock in between your two batteries, as close to the battery as you can. As for wiring the amp to the additional battery, its the same as if you were wiring to a single battery install. Instead of running a wire from your primary battery to the amp, you will run a wire from your second battery to the amp(which should be easier)

yea thats easy i guess. so i can run o ga to front battery then to the batt in the back then 4 ga from batt to amp fuse what on the + side only? how many inline fuse do i need and how many amp would be good. im gona do 300 for big 3 and for amp kit
