Matching an amplifier to two 10" infinity subs

I have an infinity 1052w which has 250 watt rms 1000 watt peak, 4 ohm DVC.

I am thinking about buying a second infinity and I was wondering what sub specs I would need if I bought a mono amp.

Obviously I would want an amp that runs 4 ohm stable, would I want a amp that does 500 watt rms at 4 ohm stable?

$80-100. Obviously Id buy used. I have a very low budget.

Looking to sell the current amp I have (lightning audio b200.2) which is only 200 watts bridged so I'd put the $40 or so I could get from that towards the mono.

If it can do it at 1 ohm would it be stable at 4? Im not very knowledgable about wiring.

If it makes that kind of power at 1 ohm chances are that it won't come close to that @ 4 ohms. With that tight of a budget your options are very limited. For that kind of power into 4 ohms, you're looking at a stereo amp that you would bridge. Into 1 ohm you're looking at a mono amp meant to drive subs.

thanks, Ill think about that. Its in my price range, though its only 180wattsrms x2 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif and the peak is only 800.

I just want the subs to make nice boom and with lowend subs Im not really thinking the quality of the amp will make a big difference. I got a decent electronic crossover deviec to mess with for it as well, my front stage is on a seperate older low end pioneer 40w rmsx2 channel amp that I bought for $30 shipped lol.

the sub is

Code:
SPECIFICATIONS
General
Power Handling, RMS	250 Watts
Power Handling, Peak	1000 Watts
Sensitivity	91dB
Frequency Response	25Hz - 400Hz
Mounting Depth	4-9/16"
Impedance	2 or 8 Ohms
So does that mean it presents a 2 ohm load to the sub because its dvc?

Im looking at this diagram

which does a 2 ohm load per sub.

versus

which does a 4 ohm load on the one sub.

sorry, I'm a little confused.

If the subs are rated for 4 ohms but are DVC are they in reality 2 ohm?

each sub is two ohms if wired like shown. if you combine them you can get either a 1ohm load or a 4 ohms load.

so you can use an amp that does

-250x2 @2ohms stereo

-500x1 at 4 ohms

500x1at 1 ohm

those are your options if you want to get 250watts to each sub.

a lil over your budget and 50 watts shy of 500 but it's a very solid amp at a good price.

oh and kicker is always a lil underrated so it'll probably do just a hair over 500 watts.

Ah okay thats good b/c I was looking at amps and anything that does 250+ @ 4 ohms was a bit out of my budget.

Thanks, I won't be getting the second sub for a month or two but Ill keep the suggestions in mind. Glad that gives me more leeway in my amp purchase //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

I bought one of these for a good deal (~$50 from factory) I hope its sufficient?

500Wattsx1 at 2 ohm.

hi ive recently purchased two of these subs and was wondering if a power acoustik bamf 1250/2 amp
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_14637_Power+Acoustik+BAMF-1250-2+-BAMF1250-2-.html

would be a good match for these subs. any other recommendations would be appreciated. willing to pay up to 250 bucks for an amp. thanks
Buy a mono amp that'll do 400 - 600 watts rms @ 1 ohm. Your $250 budget allows you hundreds of viable options.

Here are a few that'll get the job done:
