Hi, i know to match the peak wattage and rms wattage but what does the ohm stability mean?

I have 2 Pioneer TS-W257D4

specs:

# 1000W Max, 10" Dual 4 ohms Champion Series Subwoofer

# Power Handling:

* 350 Watts RMS

* 1000 Watts Peak

# Impedance: 2 ohm or 8 ohm and

# impedance:dual 4 ohm voice coils

# Trickle-Down Technology from SPL

# Integrated single-sided terminals with 4" bridging adapter

Im thinkn bout getting the 2000 WATT LANZAR VIBE266

specs:

#1 x 2000W MAX at 4 OHMS Bridged

#2 x 1000W MAX at 4 OHMS

#2 x 500W RMS at 4 OHMS

#2 x 800W at 2 OHMS RMS

I know the amp wattage is high so i proly will turn it down but what does the impedance mean?

the amp will try to force some voltage (which changes with the music) onto its output terminals. pretty much just like your AC wall outlets. in fact, you can plug speakers into the outlet, but it generally will destroy them.

anyways, the amp's output was designed to output a certain amount of current as well, so its best not to overload the output. when you do, the amp will often go into protect mode.

so the amp comes with a "stability" rating. this rating tells you what impedance will draw the most current from the amplifier, without drawing too much.

peak ratings are generally over-marketed, and mean different things when applied to amplifiers and woofers.
