working on mounts for amps:

screws into t-nuts on the other side

and....amp is mounted

only had time to make one ground but there will be i think about 7 in total - two for each spare battery, two for the sub amp, and one for all the other amps

i hooked up a temporary setup so that i can at least listen to music when i'm driving around. I was actually very dissapointed with how not loud this is, although i seem to have a problem - when i turn it up to a certain point, the CD just starts skipping and i can't really turn it up anymore. So i guess i really have no idea how loud it is, lol. Plus, the way everything is wired is really crappy and i only have one spare battery atm, sooo......

much more stuff to come, don't worry. Might start slowing down once i get stuff in there on a more permanent basis (and wired better...)

Working on putting the cover back over the back deck - oddly enough, 1/8" composite doesn't exactly meet my standards for "acoustically transparent", so some of it had to go:

ready to go in:

putting CCF and MLV over the back deck:

also, I put some grill cloth over the speakers to hopefully help shield them from UV rays.

I did get the cover back on but no pics, sorry.

More to come!!

impedance sweep of box:

seems like the 30 Hz tune was sucessful, but i'm a little bit surprised as to how high the general impedance seems to be, because i'm "technically" wired down to 1 ohm.....interesting.

Wow! Great build so far! That's a hell of an undertaking. One question, what the hell is all over your Goliath???? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

ha, the guy who i bought it from packaged it with some sort of stick foam....and i didn't have time to clean it all off before i mounted it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/redface.gif.62fdbfe1a101588a808c4cff71bcb942.gif

kind of a teaser update here, more/better pics and vids coming, don't worry!!

setting up my isolator relays:

mocking up everything to make sure it fits:

IMG_1773.jpg

it's a pretty tight fit over on the left side but it's all good.

hooking up sub amp before it's mounted (all wiring going to it is 2/0 OFC welding wire):

IMG_1777.jpg

thus far, altho not shown in pics, the back deck speakers and subs are hooked up. I still have issues with the CD player skipping at high volumes, but I was able to borrow an ipod and kick this thing and it's pure brutality lol. I do have some very minor dimming when the car is idling and i'm playing it really loud but i guess that's to be expected.

I still have some minor electrical work to do - for example i currently only have one of the two 1/o runs going from the alt to the main battery hooked up, and i have one more run of 1/0 from the main batts to the secondary batts that needs to get hooked up. Also, some better wire management in the back is needed, etc. I probably won't bother with wire management until Christmas break tho because at this point in the semester i'm pretty slammed.

But coming up over christmas break is the SQ side of this which will be my personal favorite //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I have one thing to say, dude you're crazy lol. Nice build though, very extensive! I haven't checked on it in a while and you have got quite a bit done, good job, looks like you are almost done! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

ha thanks man, a lot of stuff is done but eventually I would like to clean things up in the trunk a bit cosmetically which could be difficult, i'm not sure. Still need to do the SQ speakers in the front location and get two more amps wired in for those, still need to do some deadening and soundproofing in the doors, etc. In short I have plenty to keep me busy and poor over Christmas break that's for sure.
