just wonderin if anyone is havin same problem or its just me. k so ive been making my own ringtones for bout 5years since phones could support wav and mp3 files. what i normally do is cut a song or track i want down to 28second and under 128kbps and has always worked. i then email them to a phone as a pix message and then save as ringtone. well last week ive noticed that there not being sent ive tried 3 different mail services including yahoo, gmail, and msn. all say same thing as having a problem sending the file. so has anyone else done this method and experience same problems or anyone got any info or tips to help me out here, isnt biggest of deal but was cool to make them and not have to pay 2bux. ive also used bitpim with data cable and had decent success but havent tried that method in awile.

What kind of phone/provider do you have?

When I used to have my Katana, I would make the tone, then load it on a program called ToneThis, which would upload it and send it to my phone as a internet download. I had free data so it didn't cost anything to d/l it (it sent the ringtone as a link, clicked link, connected to internet, d/l'ed tone).

i have the lg vx9900 with verizon. ive always been able to just email the clip via ur#@vzwpix.com then the phone would recieve a picture but no picture jsut a sound file and u could then save as a ringtone. been doing it for years and now it doesnt work. i guess thats my real question is why it doesnt work lol

I use audacity and edit songs, then message them to my phone using my gmail account (only email that seems to work) using #@vzwpix.com. Works everytime with my razr!

thx guys for the suggestions but my phones locked with obex bluetooth can only send songs to the mp3 player and videos and pictures. cant set mp3s from the media player as ringtone. i have no idea why its not working ive always been able to do this and ive now tried with few friends and they cant recieve them either soo??????? maybe its my network?? oh well ill keep trin maybe its the songs but idk, ive heard ppl having trouble doing it with drm music but i dont think thats the problem. ill work with gmail lil more maybe size is problem, usually if its under 30seconds or .5mb and under 128kbps never any problems only with sound quality. thx for howardforums but ive searched and posted there also cellphonehacks.com and no idea

maybe have to load up bitpim again but havent used it in years and ive heard new firmware on some verizon phones u gotta go back to older versions for bitpim to work. oh well im stuck working all today aand sunday maybe figure it out

Same here.
You can also bluetooth them to your phone...

nG
I'll have to start doing that now...sounds like vzw blocked the port to send audio messages like .qcp and .aac to phones.

Time to bluetooth.

Can't wait for the xv6800 to come out. Then I won't have to worry about this anymore haha.
