Making Flushmounted Speaker Rings Help

i do not fully understand how to make flush mounted speaker rings. i will be making them for 4 crescendo pwx 6.5 and 2 pwx 8s. When making them would i cut out a circle that is 8 1/4 then move over 1/2 for the flange and then over another 1/2 for the speaker cutout?

what tools?

a plunge router and a circle jig make this an easy effort.

if you just have a jig saw then you will use two pieces of wood. cut the inside piece to the woofer cutout dimension. cut the outside piece to the woofer basket dimension. probably easier to set both pieces on top and drill pilot holes through both so you have the same reference point for each woofer.

Cut out max diameter on both baffles. Than cut out speaker diameter on one and speaker cutout diameter on the other. Than join them, done.
