making a sealed speaker box have ?

Oops, I totally forgot the thread title. Math does that to me.
No problem thank you. It would of been easier if I didn’t have to block out for the air tank.
I didn’t want to have it in the trunk space it would of had been placed at the very front as you looked in and I didn’t like that at all so that was my olny other place to make it fit

Is this the space you are working with?

It’s all behind this panel behind the back seat I put in for the grandkids to ride
Here is the pic of the old box with old kicker comp speaker and a pic of the car and a pic of the car before I done all the work to fix it up it’s taken me 25 years and I’m working on the interior now

I’m going to build shelf’s at a angle on ether side for holding the 2 amps and I have to mount the two air compressors and valve body back their also I’m thanking behind the side panels
My wife baught me a yeti cooler and it’s not the small one so I have to have that in the trunk also when we goto car shows and road trips it’s crazy she spent $ 350 on a cooler

I finally made the sub box today with different dimensions.
is my math right ?
what I did was measure as if it was two boxes then added them together
The lower box was 9”5/8 and top measurement was 5” so I did 95/8”+5” = 145/8” divided by 2 =7 5/16”
So it is 7 5/16”x9”x12 1/2” = 822.6563 cubic in for lower box
Upper box is
11” lower and 4 3/4” upper
11”+4 3/4” = 15 3/4” divided by 2 = 7 7/8”
So lower
7 7/8”x7 3/8”x12 1/2” = 725.9766

725.9766+ 822.6563= 1548.633 cubic inches

Right now my box is made at 20 1/2” wide so I’m going to have to cut it down by my calculations to 12 1/2” wide.
I just want to make sure before I cut it all my dimensions are inside of the box.
Thank you
After I get the right width I’m going to use construction adhesive on all seams inside of the box to make sure it’s sealed good I’ve already used wood glue and brad nails.

Cool design, you sure those are brads? I've not had them split mdf like that myself

I used screws to mock up first

You'll want to force wood glue into those splits and clamp them if possible. If you are going to use screws now you'll want to avoid using the spots you already have or run the risk of worsening the splits. Always always pre-drill MDF before screws, it will split every time.

Those splits will be gone if my math is right I was going off numbers I had and when I was making the box it wasn’t working.
rigjt now it’s 20 1/2” wide and with me running numbers it looks like 12 1/2” wide will give me the air space I need.
If not I will do as you say and glue and clamp over night to fix.
