Making a Powered Subwoofer.

I have no idea what size or tuning to go with for this sub enclosure one program says 15 cuft another says 12 cuft where as the one guy made a 5.7 with 50% poly fill totally confused at this point.

well, im about to order a bash 500 because people say it has tons of power and no problems as opposed to the dayton amp. (not trying to thread jack) does anybody have experience with these 500w models?

I was told in one of my other threads that the bash amps are not very good. If you order from parts-express use promo code SAVE52010 it saved me $5 on my order last night.

not sure maybe someone else can shine some light on them. What sub do you plan to use with it? What size is your box and how does it sound I need something to go by for my box.

the box will entirely depend on the parameters of your sub. I have a few different subs that i will be trying out. the box will most likely be somewhere around 2cubes at 25-28 hz. I might end up going with a 1000 watt plate amp. I usually just use computer power supplies on car audio amps but i want to try a more clean and efficient setup.

I did input the parameters into bass box 6 pro so does that mean the 12cuft at 17-18hz is right?

focal uses bash amps in their 1700 dollar powered subwoofer. Focal Sub6 | Sweetwater.com
that amp will be more than $200.

BASH is a patented amplifier topology.

BASH is actually an implementation of a Class H amplifier. Class G refers to multi-step rail voltages whereas Class H is defined as an amp with rail voltages that is modulated by the input signal.
i'm not saying the topology isn't legit or that it cannot be successful, but i've personally compared the Parts Express amps mentioned in this thread (along with other acousticians and sound system designers) and the performance difference is pretty obvious.

a good thread on BASH topology:
