making a ground

going to the battery is the same thing. basicaly your entire car is electrified at all times.
the seat bolts should be good.

if your gains are set to high itll give you a whine in your speakers. turn your gains down and the volume up. youll get the same output and no whine.

you have over 2,000 posts and you dont know this stuff? lol. not insulting you i just think thats funny.
im willing to bet there are many members with more posts who have yet to install a HU.

are both of your amps grounded to the same point.....i can just about guarantee that you have a gound issue or a shitty loc...try grounding it...also make sure that your ground location is a part of the unified chassis or frame as the back wall may be attached to a painted piece of metal thus creating your issue

well the whole back panel is painted but i sanded down the spot and both amps are connected to teh same spot through a dist block

so would the seat bolt be a good spot or where in a f150 if anyone is familiar with a truck like mine plz chime in

i have some engine whine comming from my comps so i am gonnna try to change my ground spot to see if it fixes the problem
right now i have the ground screwed down on the back wall of my f-150 i sanded the pait all the way off but not sure if the metal on the back wall is a good spot.

so where could i connect my ground to would the back seat bolt work or no

also whats the longest my ground can be, and can i run the ground to the battery or no because wont that cause the amp to stay on

....

high set gains do not cause engine noise....all high set gains do is amplify the noise floor.... So if he was complaining about a constant un changing hiss then his problem would likely be having gains that are set to high

its not that loud at idle but as i rev the engine up i can hear it more and it gets loud

on the converter i tested the rca volts and i got like 1.1volts not sure if i tested it right or not

why are u using a loc with an aftermarket h/u monkey killer

also on ur h/u did u use the factory ground if so try ground the h/u to a better ground casue the factory ones usually ****

what rca do u currently have/

are thye run on opposite sides of the power wire?

i am using a loc converter because at the time of my first amp i had stock radio then i installed a new HU and it got messed up by a body shop who worked on my truck after a wreck and they blew the HU, so insurance paid for another replacement and a audioshop to put it in its the cheap jvc 100 dollar model lin. i am unsure of where the ground is i will have to try to find out once it stops raining, also i am using a line out converter because with my hu rcas i have to turn my gains up higher than with the loc, the rcas and power wire and speaker wires are all ran right by each other within inches. and the rcas i have are cheap walmart ones

first off run ur knu rcas on the other side away from the power

2nd if u are going for sq ditch that pos radio and the loc and get something half way decent, and no sm cant get u a deal at kicker

3rd i always ground the radio to chasis ground personally have had whine in my speakers from shitty factory grounds

4th dont use walmart rcas

I have my amps grounded to a central location on the back wall of my truck and have zero noise. Look for a thick area instead of just thin sheetmetal. You can see mine in the center of this picture...

I grounded my head unit directly to the battery since I had to run a power wire to the fuse box anyway. I'm also using Knu Krystal RCA's.

well this is getting aggrivating i ran my rcas right over my seat and the noise was still there so now i am fustrated but oh well i am bout to say screw it i cant tell its there once the volume is up i will just get some knu krystal rcas and then go from there
