i have some engine whine comming from my comps so i am gonnna try to change my ground spot to see if it fixes the problem

right now i have the ground screwed down on the back wall of my f-150 i sanded the pait all the way off but not sure if the metal on the back wall is a good spot.

so where could i connect my ground to would the back seat bolt work or no

also whats the longest my ground can be, and can i run the ground to the battery or no because wont that cause the amp to stay on

thats what i was wondering if it takes the remote wire to turn the amp on or not because i figured a constant power and ground wire would keep the amp on

You can ground to the battery. It will be the same as grounding to the car essentially as far as a complete circuit is concerned. An amp always has power running to it, but the remote wire tells the amp to turn on basically afaik.

going to the battery is the same thing. basicaly your entire car is electrified at all times.

the seat bolts should be good.

if your gains are set to high itll give you a whine in your speakers. turn your gains down and the volume up. youll get the same output and no whine.

you have over 2,000 posts and you dont know this stuff? lol. not insulting you i just think thats funny.

yea well as i upgrade my system i have more problems and just looking for advice man

so yea and i dont have my gains up that high and my HU volume is 35/50 so thats about right anyway i dont want my hu giving a distorted signal

is the back wall on my truck a good spot or now its basically like just sheet metal almost kind of skinny metal but not sure if its a good ground

Running a dedicated ground back to the battery would probably be the best. Don't know if it would get rid of the ground loop though. If it doesn't, you might need better shielded RCAs, it might be your HU, might be any number of things.

lol, sorry i just get in a hurry when typing and forget, but anyway yea its a ground loop i am gonna try some knu krystal rca's and see how that does, my rcas are connected by a line out converter so grounding my rcas on my Hu would do no good. I think making a new ground wouldnt do much either just not sure and kinda upset bout this. I mean its not really noticeable when i turn the music up but i am just wondering how much this is messing up my SQ and if it is killing the output of my comps or no
