Mark, I still have to thank you for the MJ18. I think it's my favorite sub I've owned. It's a shame it got stolen. well max outside dimensions are 41 wideup to 25 tall

and 20 deep...

Ok, then do this:

Outside dimensions - 38"L x 20"W x 17"D

That gives you ~6.2 cubes. Plus it will look sexier with the narrower baffle.

I have an MJ-18 in ~3 cubes sealed in a hatchback off of ~400 watts and it is loud and clear.Great sounding driver that is plenty loud for a "SQ" install. The only complaint I have is the low-end isnt what I expected. That could be due to my install or the lack of power though. The Mag would have a hard time overcoming the cone advantage of the MJ's.Thus, I think the MJ's would be louder... I'm sorry to hear that. Did you get insurance for it? You know, it does work both ways. Without the logo on, your insurance company doesn't know what brand it is. 41w x 20h x 19d = 7.4

After displacment your right around 7 cube, with the power I think this would be your best bet imo

You could always have two baffles and angle the subs inward a little to save width.

i have no problem using the full width....id rather have the box span the entire width of the cargo area...

so i like the idea of 41x20x19...is 20" high enough to fit an 18? or is that cutting it too close.

For the 20" width, make sure your baffle is the "outside" piece. You should have no problem. Don't forget a window brace for the middle.

20" high is 18.5 minus top/bottom. Doable. Cutout is probably around 16-17"
