mag vs MJ18...discuss

Mark, I still have to thank you for the MJ18. I think it's my favorite sub I've owned. It's a shame it got stolen. Which is why you need to put a logo on the MJ18, so even if people steal it, they'll know what it is //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I'ma go wipe the shit off my nose now.

I have an MJ-18 in ~3 cubes sealed in a hatchback off of ~400 watts and it is loud and clear.Great sounding driver that is plenty loud for a "SQ" install. The only complaint I have is the low-end isnt what I expected. That could be due to my install or the lack of power though. The Mag would have a hard time overcoming the cone advantage of the MJ's.Thus, I think the MJ's would be louder... I've never heard a Mag, so I cant say which would have better SQ...but I can say you wont be dissappointed by the MJ-18's. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'm sorry to hear that. Did you get insurance for it? You know, it does work both ways. Without the logo on, your insurance company doesn't know what brand it is. That way, you could tell them it was an ultra-expensive sub that got ripped off and cash in... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/greedy.gif.5a53e6246569d7ab79867170f3b06629.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Meh, it wasn't worth filing a claim for a $100 sub and a $150 iPod. I just bent over and took it lol.

i have no problem using the full width....id rather have the box span the entire width of the cargo area...

so i like the idea of 41x20x19...is 20" high enough to fit an 18? or is that cutting it too close.

For the 20" width, make sure your baffle is the "outside" piece. You should have no problem. Don't forget a window brace for the middle.

Dimensions

Outside Diameter: 46cm (18 1/8")

Mounting Diameter: 41.9cm (16 1/2"")
