Mag D2 Installed..

I had my D2 in a 3.2 cubic box tuned to 27hz using dual 4" round ports.. ghetto, yes... sounded GREAT though..ohh yea was only pumping 300 watts in 4 ohms to it too.

I did a blind sound off with the W7. Same box, same amp, same car. the Mag won 14 out of 16 times.

I wont mention the 141.1 db it hit in an suv

I now have it in a 1 cubic sealed box and it sounds like ***. Not really that bad, but not nearly as good as it did ported in a big box.

Haha, i just noticed they more than doubled the original driver displacement on the SI site..went from .07 to .15, i'll have to take this into consideration with my new box.

probably your problem right there. I knew there was no way that driver was .07. Freaking ridiculous.

yea so your tuning or just size could be off. I would try to match the specs of SI that shows 2.0 at 28 hz. I know it doesnt seem like much of a difference between 30 and 28 but hey its worth the shot. Or if your building a bigger box tune lower?
