Mag D2 Installed..

yeah build a new box... AI had my RL-ps in a small sealed enclosure, put them in a ported prefab and sounded way nicer... but im building a new box soon so i cant wait... lol the box is what its about IMO

I've personally had cancellation issues with similar firing arrangements. IT will very between vehicles though. Ran 2 similar setups, one it a T-bird, and one in a Regal, the T-bird had ZERO bass, the Regal slammed. You get my point. BUT, alas. . .

Maybe this just isn't the driver for you. Personally, my Mag in 1 cubic foot with 250 watts was enough to make my ears hurt. You may be in need of more. Multiple woofers and/or more power, or a totally different driver may be your problem. I hate to say it, because I really love mine and couldn't ask for more, but hey, it's just me.

I would try a different enclosure though before doing anything else.

Hrm...sounds about right (port volume to enclosure volume for your desired tuning). Looks like that calculator worked out. As far as the rest, I can't really help without being there (trying to see about the cancellation issues with your port being on top and your driver being on a different plane) and listening to it myself.

you could just cut out another hole for the sub next to the port and put a whole piece on top of the previous side where the sub used to be. But your box is already carpeted though. Might be a problem. If you dont have an issue with taking off the carpet I would do that.

Good idea. Sure beats re-doing the entire enclosure. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

BTW: That phase control should be at 0 degrees (or turned off/all the way down/etc)...unless your sub is wired out of phase...but with the port firing up and the driver firing backwards I'm not sure how much of an affect shifting the phase will have.

yea the only problem I see with that plan is pulling off the carpet. But as long as you have some more it should work out. It will only add .75 to the height. I did it for my box when the cut outs were all messed up because I used a Sawzall to cut them out. So I just got another piece of mdf that would go over that entire front piece and cut the new cutouts.

side note: y'all act like designing a box is rocket science. it really only requires about a 8th grade math education to figure out.

dont bother w/moe lester or another box designer unless you have no clue.
