nah pretty sure they just rate it higher because it doesn't have a motor, so it doesn't lose motor strength/linearity. ever tried bottoming out an MJ? the new ones at least, I free aired >600 watts (45/50 volume, 50 being set at 800 watts) and they move like hell, much more than 30mm peak to peak but never hit bottom (i only stopped at 45/50 volume because i had already had my fun getting em moving that much anyway and didn't feel it was worth going any farther till it bottomed out)

I actually have a few brand new MJ motors that had the cones crushed in transit or customs, in case people wanted to build their own MJ.

 

I just realized the MJ-PR's are with out a coil, so Mark will have to answer that one.

I had a TC OEM with PR and it sounded pretty good. I like being able to adjust the weight of the pr for tuning.

so this would only benefit people with a MJ-18M, or can u use this with a 12 or 15 inch sub also.
