lpf setting, subsonic, boost lvl, and boost freq. setting help...

K here is going to be my setup...

12" IA Flatlyne D4

Ap15001D

2 cu/ft ported enclosure tuned to 34hz

what should I set my LPF filter to?

Subsonic (10hz - 50hz)?

Bass boost (0-12dB)?

bass boost Freq. (0-80Hz)?

I usually just mess around with them but what do you think is the best settings? I listen to mostly rock, metal, and punk with some older hip-hop!

Thanks!

I always set LP to 100hz and go down from there to what sounds best. subsonic should be set to about 10hz below your tuning frequency, in this case 24hz. leave bass boost controls alone, do not use them as they usually just cause clipping and are useless.. make sure you set your gains properly.

Thanks. I will use a Volt meter to set the gains. When setting the subsonic, is there any particular reason to set it 10hz below as opposed to say 15 or 20? Not that I'm questiong you, just trying to learn the how's and why's.
Thanks again for the input!
setting the subsonic filter keeps your sub from playing lower than your boxes tuning. not positive of the hows or whys but if you dont the cone wont stay in control. kind of like when you play a sub free air.
