Loudest Typr-r Enclosure!!!

the sub is not magical,

its all about doubling the size of the manufactorerers suggested box,

cause thats when you get some real output, there suggestions is the bare minimum, and a selling point ("less space") basicly, it may not sound good but it will play in there)

1 12" type R in a 4 foot vented enclosure tuned to 36 hz will out perform 2 type R's in a 4 foot enclosure tuned to 36 (SPL anyways) 2 subs in the same space as the one will smooth out the curve

its all about the sensitivity ya heard

alot of people are skeptical about this "the manufactor says this that blah", but if you heard the one R 10" i did in a 2.5 cubic foot box, and the one R 12" in the 4-- most wouldn't be able to sleep at night

heres an example, my elcipse ti says it will go in a 2 foot vented enclosure or some shit,

when i called eclipse, "it will go in 2.0 but optimum is 4.75--- wow, good thing i dont care about space thats a bit of a diffence,

experiment and see, its how you can make 1 $150 sub make people jaws drop

if you want the loudest type R 12 do this

1 R 12" in a 5 cubic foot enclosure tuned to 55 hz, it will not play music but with a 12db sensitivity gain at 57 hz, you'll be taken mutha f'as out in the street a class at the db drag

1000w amp on each vc

i got almost all the params for 1242 (dual 4 ohm coils)

QTS-0.47

VAS-45.3

FS-29hz

RE-1.85 ohm

LE-1.67

xmax-18.2

Z-4ohm x2

QMS-7.89

QES-0.50

SPL-85db

BL- N/A

SD-74.4

for $150 (179.00 at best buy) these subs dont really have anything comparable at the price range, unless you find some higher model woofer for cheap

i know you can get them for like $100 on the net, but the warrentee is to risky, because alpine does not authorize internet sale of there product except crutchfield- so it wouldn't actually be sent in and fixed, the online company would just have to give you a new woofer which is cool, but are they actually going to do it, could the company afoord to ship out a whole new woofer, when you spent $100 on it? who knows

the only sub i found in the range that outperformd (db wise) it in a smaller vented box was the MTX thunder 8000 which you can get for like $100 now but it used to be a $200 woofer before they put them on close out for so cheap, some one needs to pick up like 10 of those 8000's and they would have a large SPL setup for cheap

not to thread jack or anything but what about a single 15, what would be the optimum size and tuning for great numbers and some sound quality......... what about dual 15's, i have a caprice and some space that needs occupying.

you dont tune R'z high like that...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif anyone with good experience with the TYPE R will tell you not to....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif ....but if all u want is a FART. then so be it.... i guarantee a TYPE R will not only be loud but sound good as well tuned hella lower, but power wise, oh yeah 1000W to each coil....nice...like T.I. says BE EASY on the gains shawty......

that is for an SPL only setup man, i would n't ever tune a daily for anything like that so you can stop laughing i make sq boxes with a ton of SPL im talkin about strictly competeing and getting the most DB's out of it if you want to win

thats just to play one tone if you want to compete thats how they do it, well the people that usually win, not all the time though

and the reason tuned so high is because it will be louder, higher frequencies take less power than it does to make lower frequencies at the same db level

and i have very good experiance with the type R btw

so would 2 kicker 12" L7's with 1 nine.1 out do the 1 alpine type r....the kicker box size is 32" wide x 14" tall x 28" deep.....i really dont know what its tuned to becuase kicker sayed this was the highest spl box design for my car trunk. but i was just wondering.

wtf??? it sounded like it was 150db...lmao...sounds like a reputable shop
yeah, havent you heard?? instead of using a termlab you just see how much your ears hurt after....very effective.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

2 15"s you got some room do like 8 cubic feet at 35 hz with as much power as you can put to them and you have people shitting themselves

but if your going to underpower the pair you are better off getting only 1 and giving it full power

for sure

i just did it in my friends camry

man im tellin you when people hear his shit they are like "oh my god"

im not exagerating in any way

for $150 sub its st8 nuts
