losing major voltage between both batteries....

for it being the fuse
I dont know for sure its the fuse because the kinetik still wasn't really charging when I turned the truck on.

But it did make some kind of difference.

After it gets done charging we will see for sure. Im hoping and praying.

what would be the best way to charge my kinetik with my battery charger

It has two switches

One switch you have the option of 200 amp start or 40 amp

Other switch you have the option of 2 amp or charge

What should I switch to on each switch?

with the truck on, the amps were on correct? and they were pulling from the rear battery (that wasn't getting a charge from the alt) and going down. turn off truck (and amps) the load is removed and the batt stabilizes (goes back up). sounds like the batteries were taking the load of the system, getting too low and made the amp go into protect.

i think charging the battery(ies) will do the trick

not to knock kinetik but lots of people been having probs!
really? about 3 weeks ago i went to a distributor trade show that was close to me to check out new gear they were carrying and since they carried Kinetik they had 7 failures..that distributor sells thousands of them a year....

find a pic if you can. model # of charger?

The BEST way is to use an AGM charger; Turbostart, Kinetik, or PowerMaster

If you call the Kinetik guys, they will not recommend you mix wet-cell batteries with AGM. Not saying you have to run kinetik, but at least get two AGM batteries.

well I charged it until my DMM read 14.7 volts. I turned the charger off and the voltage dropped down to 12 something so I didn't think it would work. However I turned it on and it played just fine. Played just fine since then until today and it started doing the same thing again. As soon as I turn the bass on it would kick in and out of protect.

So it worked just fine for about 2 days.

How positive are you the ground between your engine block (alternator) and rear bat are good? It sounds like you might have a poor ground to the rear bat and it isn't getting charged.

Give us details on exactly how you have your 2 batteries wired.

Sounds like the the rear batt isnt getting charged. Take your DMM and check the voltage on both sides of the fuse under the hood. It should be the same on both side of the fuse. If it the same you have a bad ground.

It does read the same on both sides of the fuse. I dont see how the ground would be bad. Its the same ground I had this whole time and it worked fine until just last week. I drilled a hole in the back and ran the ground under the vehicle directly on the vehicle frame. Took a grinder to it to to get it to bare metal.

Grounds get loose. Verify them. I would think even with a bad battery you should still be getting the same voltage upfront as in back when the car is running, especially when your system isn't even on. Since you are not, this means you probably have a wiring issue somewhere.

To rule the kinetik out as the problem you should bypass the battery and connect your amp directly to the power/ground from the front battery. If voltage issues disappear then it is the Kinetik.

How long have you had it and did you buy it new?

I had the same problem. I had my ground wire come off and that was the trouble. I relocated it and cleaned the paint off the new place and tighten the shit out of it.....no more voltage problems.
