Looking to upgrade out of entry level

I currently run a Pioneer W3003D4 dual 4 ohm off a RF R750-1D and am looking to upgrade. I care more about sound quality than loudness so I'm looking for a 12" SQL sub under $400 and a good amp to go with it (if my current one isn't good enough that is). I have four Polk Audio DB6501 in the front if that helps. I'm relatively new to the audio scene so I may not understand the more advanced technical terms so please try and work with me haha. Thanks in advance!

SQL is a made up term that doesn't exists. If you want sound quality what you have is fine.

You will need to fix the install.

Add tuning power.

First, what is your deffinition of sound quality.

I'll read that article once I have time, but I guess accuracy is a better term. I listen to mostly rock/metal and edm so something that can hit hard when it needs to but can also be subtle and harmonic when the situation calls for it.
