Looking to get louder

As the title says I am looking to get louder. Right now I have two american xfl 12s in a ported box that is 5.5 gross walled off in my trunk. A Crescendo bc2000 is pushing the subs. Like I always I am I looking to get louder, but with the amp I have now and the electrical I have.

Right now the dimensions of my box are 37 width x 15.5 height x 21.5 length. I have an extra 10in available in length. Would rebuilding a box to 37 width x 15.5 height x 30 length for either 4 12s, two maybe three 15s, two 18s with subs facing up work?

Would this get me any louder? I know I am adding more cone area but keeping the same power. This is simply an idea and any others that would get me louder are much appreciated.

Bigger box and more cone area will get you louder, but I'd add power if I went through all that trouble

Sadly cant add power since I will be getting rid of this car in about a year or two and dont want to buy a new alt and then have to sell it.

Alright, makes sense.

Look for efficient subs that don't necessarily need a ton of power to get moving

Any other thing I can do to get louder? Besides new box and new subs? I thought or wiring to .5 ohm. But I dont know if my alt can handle it. Right now I drop to 13v when playing one song. So I am guessing no

I wouldn't wire to .5

Then you'd have to get new subs if you wanted to wire .5 nominal. I assume you know that, and that's why you were wanting to get new subs? Remember than efficiency drops as you wire lower, so a bigger amp wired higher would draw less current (not that I recommend getting a bigger amp without better electrical)

How loud do you want to get exactly ? (what are your current numbers ?). Two XFl's in a proper box should be hitting mid 140s no problem (that's not exactly chump numbers).

As someone else mentioned, more efficient subs should help (XFL's are sub $200 assemble line subs that are decent for the cash but not the most efficient or clean )

You wouldn't have enough room for 2 18s. 3 12s or 2 15s would be nice if you could fit them inside of there. That's using max dimensions. Like 3 sa 12s or vvx's would be cool, just would want more power. Your setup now is fine, but I think making the port bigger and maybe change the tuning a little bit would be in your favor.

Okay well with 2k rms what would be the best setup 2 15s at 1k each or 3 12s at about 650 each?

Really depends on the woofer that you get and the quality of your box. The cone area is about the same. If you got 2 sundown sa-15s that would be amazing.

I agree, 2 sundown sa 15's would absolutly love 1k a piece. I personally heard one in my buddys girls car and was impressed how loud it got on less than 1k wrms

With that size box those would be the ideal subwoofer? Also am I going to notice the difference?

Someone is selling some SA 15's on here for a good price too
