I have heard some good things about the SA 12's. I plan on getting 2 of them, But I need some advice first. Which sub would be best? The D2, or the D4? Also, what amp would go well to power both of them, and what premade box, or what box dimensions would be best? Thanks in advance!

get d4s and wire to 1ohm ..get a solid 2000rms amp ..and no prefab boxes ..get someone on here to design u a box ...a prefab box will kill the ability of those subs
Thanks for the advice. You know of any amps that will put out that much power for a somewhat inexpensive price?

whats ur.budget ? amd what kind of.electrical do you hVe in ur car? also if u cant build a box urself plan on 150-200 for a custom box
Probably around $200 max for the amp, so not much. I'm not sure what electrical, but it's a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. I also planned on building a box, assuming i had dimensions.

If you look online SSA and a couple other sites they package the 2 subs and a either SAZ-1200 or 1500 amp and that would be more than sufficient. If you went with a 2000-2500 watt @1 ohm you could be safe with 2 D2's running at 2 ohms which is a lil better sound quality and less taxing on the electrical system since the amp will run more efficient.

Not familiar with SSA. If you could maybe link me to the website, that would help out a lot. Those packages do sound really good, assuming they have a slight price drop.

Thanks. I do think the amp is a bit out of my range though..
I will offer this advice. I have been in your place with not having the proper budget to do all at once. You can look on here and you can sometimes find a good deal on used I bought my SD-2's reconed from woofer cooker and they are awesome just like new. I made te mistake of buying cheaper or I will say it Garbage amps before. Whatever you do dont buy Boss. I can say ifonics amps for the money are about the best "Cheap" amp on market. Only my opinion through experience. You can look into Soundqubed as well there 1200 is around 270. PM me Ill offer you an amp I have on my sd's but it wont run what Im ordering soon. only if you want.

Ok I'll give you my budget sundown build. I ran this setup in a mid size SUV and it makes plenty of noise and sounds pretty damm good for the money invested.

What I had:

2 sundown SA 15"s, d4's running off of an audiopipe apsm2000 in 1 ohm. I got the subs on eBay for like 375-385$ shipped, and the amp was like 185$. I know ap amps are not super high end amps but the little sucker benched like 1850 watts before clipping and absolutely destroys my sundown saz 1200v2 when compared head to head power to power.

I had my SA's in a 5 cu/3 sealed box to start with and they sounded really good. Then I built a 6.5 cu/3 (net) ported box tuned to 33 htz and they really came alive. The box change made a massive difference in spl. Now I have them in 8 cu/3 ported tuned to 33 htz with about 1000 watts running to each and I am very very very happy with them.

Just remember follow the box recommendations from the sundown site, feed them at least 600watts each, and for the love of god put them in the largest ported box that sundown recommends. And As far as amps don't hesitate to try the little audio pipe apsm2000 it's not a bad lil amp and it will flat kick a pair of SA's square in the azz in 1 ohm all day long. If u have the money jump up to an American bass vfl series, or an old used elemental designes Nin.1. So long as you are hitting them with AT LEAST 600 rms they will bang, preferably 1000 rms each.
