Hey well recently came upon a bike my friends brother was selling. Some background on the deal: He is second owner the guy who owned it before him bought it brand new. The bike has been dropped but only once. It has 8k miles and he is selling for $2,500. Only think I am really worried about is the part where the frame part thats broken off where the rear set bolts on. Should I pass or go for it after I have a mechanic look at it? Thanks here the pics:

Here is the frame where one of the rear sets is supposed to bolt on:

Here is where he laid it down on the left side, same side as rear set above:

This is where the right side frame slider connects to frame, see any problems there besides being scratched it looks like?:

Other pictures of bike including undertail exhaust:

what kind of cycle do you have?

I mean i wouldnt be worried about that cosmetic damage as it can be sanded and repainted, but the only thing as i said before is the part that is broken off of the main frame.

lol, i dont have a bike at the moment. Ive had a few and i am a mechanic. I will be picking myself up a r6 this spring.

Cosmetic damage shows they did not take care of the bike...it seems too cheap to be true. I would be very weary...

whats the broken part connect to? Obviously the frame (which is broke), but what else? Looks like the rear pegs and/or shifter?

Yea I mean it does show that but I mean with it being this cheap I will have ~1k to dump in it including new fairings and any maintenance that needs to be done.

Its just the left rearset that is shown in the picture that is broken. It can be tig welded back on and nothings wrong with the rearset (which confuses me) but i mean it was a molding which are easily broken as ive had experience with. Yea it is the left shifter aka rearset.

Also hell yea I wanted an r6 originally but cant afford it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

it doesnt effect the frame at all...so it should be fine if tig'd back into place. I would think it would be fine...i would check the frame for cracks of any sort. It was layed down hard on that left side it looks like. It being that cheap makes me think theres something wrong with it thats not being told to you...

Well the guy who im buying it from is giving me a good deal because he got it for even less from a friend of his that didnt use it anymore after he crashed it and was afraid. So he got it for even less and is just giving me a good deal because Im his bros friend. I mean I plan on having a reputable bike shop look at it before I fully commit. And I want him to ride it for 20 minutes or so to make sure everything warms up and doesnt leak. Thanks for the reassurement on the frame piece that was my main concern.

Sorry man, but I would pass on that. It looks like whoever had it was rough as hell on it. Does it even have a clean title? My guess is its probably a salvage title. That undertail exhaust looks like hell, and was not well done by the looks of it, as you know GSXR's do not come with undertail exhausts. Is the frame twisted or anything at all? You just got to think about it man its cheap for a reason. I think you would just be buying one big problem.

I just sold my R6 today.....its a sad sad day.
