Best way to burn .avi files to dvd

So they will play in any dvd player.

It's the p90x workout and there's 13 .avi files about 700mb a piece and need to get them on some DVD's for a friend.

is there a way to do it without doing any converting?

convertxtodvd is quality software. It'll allow you to use custom menus and even add music to them. I've been using it for quite a while and have no complaints...
