All of those are good options.

first of all, what's the difference between hard dome and soft dome.

secondly, how much would a decent pair of tweeters run me...

thirdly, if i'm using the pioneer premier deh770 head-unit, can i sufficently power a pair of tweeters, or do i need to get an amp.

and if I do need an amp, how big will it have to be to run the two tweeters AND my front 2 4'' rockford fosgate speakers.

first of all, what's the difference between hard dome and soft dome.

Hard dome uses "hard" material such as metal for the dome of the tweeter, soft dome is "soft" material like textile, etc.

You'd be better off with an external amp.

I wouldn't //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif If you are going to add a tweeter, now would be a good time to upgrade the mids aswell. Might as well just buy a new comp set.

Adding a tweeter to those co-axials isn't really going to help much. You would be better off with a whole new frontstage.

i thought about a whole new comp set, but the sticky recomended putting stuff in kicks or door panels. i drive a small car(mazda 626) so i don't have room for kicks, and my door panels don't have speakers in them, and as of right now i don't have the time do deal with making new panels or having someone else do it for me.

edit: if i were to get a comp set, are both of these acceptable?

I like the pioneers better. For that type of wattage requirements, the diamond audio 3.400.4 isn't a bad bet at around $150 shipped. There may be better deals but I have one and it works well.

so if i got those pioneer components, it would be 2 6 1/2'' speakers, and two 1'' tweeters.

so would i just put those 6 1/2'' speakers in my rear deck?
