Looking for speakers, specific search. $100

Thats what I hear. In general, I dont like the idea of spending the same or more on coaxial when I can get components.

I'm seriously considering the cadence set but its apparently only $70 on ebay. But they are 100rms rated, I dont wanna have them distort early bc I only have 70 watts to give them.

Also, does anyone have info on the Alpine SPS-600C or Kicker KS650.2's. I just wanna try to narrow down the list since I know the Pioneer and cadence sets are good.

Not to thread jack, but what can help with reduce the brightness? I plan on mounting tweets in my stock location (sails). Would the 7 band EQ on my HU help?

I just want to get some pretty good comps and the only thing holding me back from ur massives is the tweeter issue.

TC, Cadence makes some pretty decent amps, I'm running a ZRS for my sub right now. I don't know about their speaker quality, but I think I remember people saying they are decent.

I just like to run other brands because it seems like everyone has Kicker/RF/Alpine/Infinity/JL. Plus I like it when people hear my uncommon equipment and say "Wow!"

Anyone else?

So my first choice is the Phoenix golds but do you know of any others I should consider?

These are my other options: anyone know about these below?

Cadence CWM-6KIT $80

Kicker KS650.2 $100 (maybe)

Pioneer D1720C $110

so change of plans. I'm actually looking for only coaxials now. B/c with this car. I dont wanna have to drill holes for the tweets. Especially if I resell it.

So here are my coaxial options: Hertz DCX 165 $90, Alpine SPR-17C $105, Polk Audio db651 $65, Pioneer TS-D1602R $80.

Which do you think would be best?

The alpines seem great but they are 100rms speakers and I only have 75 watts. I dont wanna underpower them.

So now my main choice is the Polks. Can anyone think of a better coaxial for the money, the reviews seem awesome.

those r nice! Did u have the Polks I wrote above? I'll check these out.

I'm looking for good mid bass and tweeters that arent to harsh. These will be my main sound source since I'm not upgrading the rear.

Only problem with those is they are 2ohm speakers. I need 4ohm speakers.

So I need speakers that will work great off 70 watts RMS at 4 ohms.

You shouldn't worry about "underpowering" the speakers. What do you think you're doing when you turn your head unit down with your gains set to full speaker RMS? You're running them at a lower power. Unless you're running them at less than a watt, you can safely say you're not underpowering them.

The Alpine amp you have is not 2 ohm stable?

well I'm fairly new to car audio, so can u explain that a little. I mean the hertz seem great but as for the JBL's. How is that not to much power? Even with the gains turned down.

This is the first time I'm amping door speakers so I'm nervous about blowing them. I have a small budget.

If you properly set your gains via DMM and listen for distortion, you don't have to worry about blowing anything. If you have a 4000 watt amp and a 150 watt sub, as long as the gain knob is sensitive enough you can set it without blowing the sub.
