I do what I want
I have heard they are brighter but can be helped with mounting of axisor a couple other things...
You shouldn't worry about "underpowering" the speakers. What do you think you're doing when you turn your head unit down with your gains set to full speaker RMS? You're running them at a lower power. Unless you're running them at less than a watt, you can safely say you're not underpowering them.so change of plans. I'm actually looking for only coaxials now. B/c with this car. I dont wanna have to drill holes for the tweets. Especially if I resell it.So here are my coaxial options: Hertz DCX 165 $90, Alpine SPR-17C $105, Polk Audio db651 $65, Pioneer TS-D1602R $80.
Which do you think would be best?
The alpines seem great but they are 100rms speakers and I only have 75 watts. I dont wanna underpower them.
So now my main choice is the Polks. Can anyone think of a better coaxial for the money, the reviews seem awesome.
those r nice! Did u have the Polks I wrote above? I'll check these out.I'm looking for good mid bass and tweeters that arent to harsh. These will be my main sound source since I'm not upgrading the rear.
Only problem with those is they are 2ohm speakers. I need 4ohm speakers.
So I need speakers that will work great off 70 watts RMS at 4 ohms.
Your putting way more thought into it then need be. Get the Hertz or jbls. Your amp will be fine with whatever speakers you choose.it is but makes 120 watts rms at 2 ohms. so I'd almost def blow them.
If you properly set your gains via DMM and listen for distortion, you don't have to worry about blowing anything. If you have a 4000 watt amp and a 150 watt sub, as long as the gain knob is sensitive enough you can set it without blowing the sub.well I'm fairly new to car audio, so can u explain that a little. I mean the hertz seem great but as for the JBL's. How is that not to much power? Even with the gains turned down. This is the first time I'm amping door speakers so I'm nervous about blowing them. I have a small budget.
