ok so i have a gmc canyon exstended cab truck.. and i have just put a 12' jL w3 powerd by a 600.1 amp... now it sounds great..

but my next project is to get some speakers and a amp to power them....

my truck hold 6.5 both front and back and it has 2 tweeters up front. and im looking for some nice speakers and twetters ( price no issue, but not to to exspensive)

i want speakers that will hold up to the sub and give great crisp sound no matter what.

now when it comes to getting speakers i get so confused over componets or coaxal and all that bull ****.....

so i want some ideas to make my system in my truck to be perfect!!

also some one told me i should get a crossover for the speakers and all that....... what do i need to get to get what i want? help please?

SQ= sound quality. And yeah JL are good amps if you have the money to blow. But similar quality can be found for less. I don't really like anything by JL except for thier amps. Look on EBay for a JL slash series or HD series amp and you will have some real clean sounds. Just don't buy them new , they are expensive as hell.

if price isnt the issue i'd go with cdt
i bought CDT tweets , forgot the models , and a pair of M6 midwoofers from CDT. The midwoofers fell apart and never sounded very nice from day one. And the tweeters were uninstalled and sold in favor of a pair of crescendo CCX tweets. CDT is GARBAGE!! Stay away from that crap.

I don't know if JL still makes separates but they used to make some good sounding ones. I agree that better can be had for the money, but JL is good quality and reliable across the board (barring their real entry level lineup) and having everyting matching brands is appealing to a lot of ppl for cosmetic reasons.

Beware with not buying from an authorized dealer of JL. You can usually find it cheaper from a non-authorized dealer, but if you receive a defective amp, or it goes out on you and you didnt buy authorized, JL isnt going to do crap about a warranty for you. If you want to go JL and want to buy authorized, i suggest looking at Al and Eds website. They are authorized and they price match most any online source except for Egay. Just google the model you want, go to the shopping section, pick the cheapest website you can find and send the link to Al and Eds, they will usually price match or come close.

As for speakers, I would go for components up front and maybe coaxials in the rear. This is what i did with my last car and it worked out well. I think you should spend more money on your front speakers as those are the ones you hear the most. For my new truck I am only going to be putting in front speakers as i dont really need rear speakers.

For brands, I like the Image Dynamics as previously mentioned. Woofers etc has a good deal on a pair right now (i think it is on their homepage). I am not certain that they are an authorized dealer though. I also like the Hybrid Audio Imagine series. Very good speaker for ~$200. And I like Hertz products, but they are a little more pricey. I dont know much about CDT products but Woofers etc has an assload of their speakers.

Just my .02
