Looking for some speakers for my 2004 Corolla since I drive it daily to work now. Nothing expensive though, just better than the stocks that are in there now. My price range is 0-40. I found some Kenwoods on Sonic Electronics but there on back order since the price was normally 70 on sale for 23.

I had an 03 corolla and these corollas have a horrible time getting good sound and bass from door speakers. If you add aftermarket speakers without amping it and treating your doors, it'll still sound like poop but with less midbass then stock speakers, especially with speakers under 80$.

Try doing this first

then go through steps 1-8. This has made the biggest difference in bass and midrange performance and is pretty cheap, just requires some work. You can skip the deadening with CLD part, just cover the gaps with aluminium sheets.
