Looking for red or shiny speakers

To add something helpful. Does he have a budget? Consider proper install with a beautiful grill on top of it. The speaker itself doesn't need to be the showpiece so much as the grill.

Also, i don't know who he plans to show off too. No one takes someone seriously with flashy things. Substance is the currency of the day these days.

I honestly don't know why I didn't consider that. I knew he'd need grills, but I guess that just seemed secondary. I'm a dummy! lol

As for budget, he's looking at 800 max, including the "box".....this isn't going to be a door build or anything like that. He wants some "box pods" just behind the C pillar, above the sub box, which can be turned, on a swivel, toward the back of the car if needed. Don't ask. He's beyond counseling. He has to do his crazy ideas, learn from them, and then change things. I told him not to install the Evil 6.5s in his doors because a lot of people felt they didn't have the mid-bass he wanted. Several months later he finally admitted thy sound tinny. smdh

Peerless sls 8Silver flute 6.5s

And whatever tweets he wants. When playingwitha dedicated midrange. Basically any tweeter works.

Both super great and test/proven speakers and super cheap (price wise).

He will need more than amplifier crossovers to pull it off tho. Look at a minidsp 2x8 (c-dsp) for tuning.

Look for a ppi 900.4(or 900.5 for a 5 channel) on ebay, as they have been recently discontinued but are the best bang for the buck amps rn.

Look in the classifieds for a 2 channel for the tweets.

If he wants to run passive. You can skip the 2 channel.

That is the gear he'll need. As for the ability to wire and tune it. Thats another story and not our concern.

Tell him if he wants "pretty" to go for carbon fiber.

Actually, the cerwin vega "Vega" series component speakers are respectable midrange gear for the money.

Also, like the other guy said, carbon fiber comps/mids/subs can be found also. Powerbass used to have a nice component set.

Also, PPI has a a few component sets with copper phase plugs - popular and very hot looking:

Have him contact psi on fixmyspeaker.com they make there own sub lines and can custom color just about all of it. You will get a quality product and it will be colorful. The cone the cap, basket and spider can all be colored for you.
