Looking for notebook RAM reccomendations

I usually use Bufallo for laptops. It's dirt cheap, works great, and comes w/ a lifetime warranty. Installed it in probably about a dozen or so laptops, all worked fine.

Corsair and Kingston also work great, in my experience.

I sometimes get OCZ against my better judgement as well, usually due to cost. It's bitten me in the *** a few times, though.

And, yeah, 1 GB of Vista is no good. I'd get that up to 2 GB or more and pick up a 7200 RPM 2.5" hard drive. Should be much faster after that (assuming you're not using like a piece of shit Celeron, Sempron, or Athlon CPU, of course).

i thought about getting a better hard drive as well, any reccomendations?

Its an intel 1.6ghz duo processor. Toshiba computer i scored for 50% off.

How can i tell what type of ram to get? looking on newegg, there are a few different types of ram sticks. Do i need to open my laptop up and physically look at it to tell, or is there another way?
