im looking for a new headunit, doesnt exactly need to be a fancy touchscreen dvd player tv 1500$ one. i currently have a kenwood mp-438 head unit, im looking to upgrade

im looking for a nice one that has direct ipod controls so i dont need to keep scrolling through my ipod almost getting in accidents messing with the ipod( lol:) ). something nice/decent that sounds great, one with subwoofer preouts for my subs/amp, and one with great equalizer and one that doesnt do its bass EQ in hz like the pioneers, shit confuses me.. lol

also, what is the difference in preout voltage? 2.0volts 4.0 volts 5.0 vols and so on?

edit: looking for a headunit compatable with the 2nd gen ipod touch, doesnt matter if it can charge it or not.

From what I've heard, the preout voltage - the higher it is, the less interference you are able to receive, but I'm sure that's not a real clear definition.

The pre-outs have mostly either 2v or 4v. If you have low pre-outs (2v) it means you will need to turn the gain on your amp up higher to obtain a certain level. If you had 4v pre-outs you wouldn't have to turn the gain so high because you're starting off with higher volts.
