Alpine 9815 Rotary Knob Problem

Tried searching, couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. Now that my 9815 has aged a little and installed into 3 or 4 different cars, I've noticed that the rotary knob isn't working right. I really love this HU and I would hate to have to send it to it's SQ grave. If I turn it too fast in either direction it may change the volume (or whatever other valule I'm changing at the time) up or down. I've also had instances of when I turn it down it actually increases volume one or two units before it goes back down. Is there a way I can fix this myself or would I need to send the face to service? Thankx.

But it could be an internal problem...

Mine is the same way. I got a 9851. I think its just wore out.. I think the only, or best option would be to look for a good used face on ebay or the forums or something.
