looking for nakamichi cd500's with no luck

you can get Nakamichi CD-300 at:eek:nlinecarstereo.com $155 shipped

techronics.com $168.35 shipped

I realize you are looking for the CD-500 and it also shows at Techronics at $438.25 shipped, they also have other Nakamichi models

just called they, they are no longer in stock //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif any more leads? they claim that nakamichi is going out of business and therefore everything has been discontinued....

You would be much better off getting a deck that can be serviced if you have problems with it. A $150 Nakamichi will be no better than a run of the mill Alpine, Pioneer, Eclipse or JVC. You are paying for a name that does not mean much anymore. Long gone is the prestige and quality associated with Nakamichi.

That's good stuff.. I was misinformed then and stand completely corrected.. And I'm glad... I know more than one "Dragon" owners that want to keep their decks well maintained. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif We still used them in the plant here (used to mfr cassettes for the books on tape customers)

Is Nak planning on expanding their presence in the US car audio or home audio market?

I have to say, maybe a little stepped-down cd700 II with some updated TA, EQ processing capability would be serious! Or at least seriously admired.

thanks for the links.

****Can anyone here tell me about the dimming control with the cd400??? again, cd500/cd700 has it.... but is there a hookup for cd400 so i can dim it with the rest of the factory lighting??? *****

thanks very much guys, i really appreciate your help!!
I just installed an older 400 and it had an illumination wire so yes it could on that one but it was older maybe 3-4 years??
