Looking for input - Truck 4 x 8" Sub Setup

Hey guys, I'm new to the whole soudns system scene, but I've been talking with a friend who knows a bit and I'm thinking about setting up a sounds system with 4 8" subs under the back seats in my 1999 Dodge Ram Pickup Truck. I don't know much about 8" subs, so I would like to know what brands are good. Mounting depth is not much of a problem, as long as it isn't really crazy. Also, any ideas of how I should set up the amp set up? If anyone has used 8's and would be willing to offer any input, that would be a greatly appreciated help.
