Im trying to spend $600 total for subs. I want to get either 2 15s or 3 15's.

The only ones i can think of are from the DC lvl2's. I have no way i can find them to buy them. Also I notice that they are 4 ohm, so my options of buying 3 would also change things.

With this price range can suggest anything else. Thanks for any information.

sealed box, and rap music.

you say budget is 600 for subs - but what about the rest of the setup ? - do you do the big 3 yet ? - do you have an upgraded alternator ? - and do you have battery reserve yet ? - because for 600 you can get a pair of pretty bangin *** 15" subs that will require alot of amp power - wich will require lotts of thick wiring and possibly upgraded alternator and reserve batterys and .... it all getts out of control fast.

once you get amp power above 1000w rms you start needing the above stuff to handle the demand for power.

or

you could go get some good but cheap 15's like the powerbass subs and power them fully off 750w or LESS and still have some pretty good bass but not like world class go get metered on a term lab type system goin - but still plenty good for a music playing car that drives places with people in it

its just one way of goin... I did the same for a bit before I wanted to upgrade.. and then upgrade again and again lol

Thanks everyone for so far. I dont have an amp yet, but I was wanted the subs to be very small watts so i would get away from getting a new alternator ect.

if that is the case - then when you are subwoofer shopping you need to check the rating of SPL ( usualy between 85 and 98 )

the higher the reading = the louder the sub will be off less power. it is measured by a microphone infront of the sub 3 feet away

and the sub playing on 1 watt of power. all subs are measured the same way - so its relatively a good acurate measurment to take to conciceration.

I currently have a 18" pa woofer in my car just for kicks. its a jbl 2043g and its spl rating is in the high 90s if not the 100s

and it getts insanely loud off 320w rms.... but it does not make my car feel like a 9.0 earth quake happening like my re sx 18" did on 1400w rms... lol

2 AQ SDC2.5s + AQ 1200D, with wiring and a box you'll be just shy of $700. They'll get loud in a well built box, and you should have to upgrade any of your electrical, if anything just do the big 3.

Not true. Some manufacturers test their speakers with 2 watts(ie: 2.83V/1M instead of the usual 1W/1M)...the problem is most of the car audio manufacturers will not specify which way they test it(normally if they used the 2.83V/1M method) in order to make it seem like they have a more sensitive speaker. If a company doesn't specify which method was used, and simply says "89db efficient," I take it with a grain of salt. Like I said, car audio companies will do this a lot, but home audio/raw speaker brands will almost always specify because the people using them are normally more audio savvy and focused on t/s than the average car audio user(not to mention the manufacturer doesn't want to seem like they're hiding something).

Subwoofer efficiency is measured at 1khz (standardized method for measuring efficiency of all speaker types, not just subs). Since your sub will never see anywhere near 1khz, and since the enclosure plays as big or a bigger role on over all system efficiency than raw driver efficiency does, the spec is all but worthless.

Are the Powerbass subs, going to better then like getting the cheap Kicker comps, "the cheap kickers". Or something cheap like a JBL. Thanks everyone.
