Eclipse titaniums sw9122 subs how long with 2 last on 2 AQ2200Ds strapped at 1 ohm???

Well, my buddy is running 2 of these on an Audioque 2200D and sounds great. He is in the process of redoing his electrical and wants to run 2 2200Ds strapped at 1 ohm(I have done this many times with good voltage they work fine).

The question is how long will those two subs last on two aq2200d with the aq's seeing 1/2 ohm each? We know they won't last to long, so he will set everything low for daily but wants to burp them at full blast from time to time.

You can burp them with that power with no problem, assuming 2-3sec burps. For daily you won't need anywhere near that power, and I'd imagine you're reach mechanical limits before thermal if using a ported box.

Yea ported box, 4ft3 tuned to 32hz. The single 2200 is doing a nice job as is..but he wants more...I guess it would be an excuse to recone them.

I figure a mechanical failure decently quickly..although they are taking the 2200 like a champ and actually do not move(excursion) all that much considering.

Naw, he bought a few things for the house(kitchen appliances) like they had talked about and he surprised her with a new washer/dryer setup...so he is out of the dog house..for now

I wouldn't stick that much power into it. Behold the power of an USA-2000X

^^^ Coil is still perfect but the suspension ate sh!t. At least you can rebuild them with better parts, my pair is currently on 3000 watts and no issues yet.
