Looking for HO Alt

I have a 1999 GMC Sierra 5.3L with 2 RF amps pushing about 1100 watts. My stock alt is bad and I'm looking to upgrade. I have been looking at the Mechman Alts 240 amp large case. Should I buy through the Mechman site or Sonic Electronic site?

I have also read some good things about Singer alts, but I can't get any info /prices. I have sent emails to the address on the website but have not heard back. Do they sell through any other sites? Anybody have a contact number for them? Or should I be looking elsewhere for an amp?

Not sure if it was just my application but the Mechman 270 for my car only did 140 amp at Idle.

DC did the best after comparing the big companies. 200 at Idle on my 270. Second choice was Singer.

Yeah idle is huge difference depending on the application and the brand. My singer 320 does 180 at idle.

Ordered my 270 amp Alt on Friday and it got here Wednesday,awesome fast service so far (Thanks Chris @ Mechman)..... belts get here tomorrow. Should be good weather on Saturday for me to install.
