Im not sure if I am posting this in the right area or not.

I am in C City, VA..in between Richmond and Williamsburg and I am looking for someone to help me fix my installation. Basically since my car got robbed back in Oct my audio has gone to hell. Wiring sucks, stuff looks bad...all that stuff. I want to get the BIG 3 and a decent amp rack built. The one I tried to put together is a joke. Guys around here aren't too professional and you can tell by the way their stuff is hooked up and how their trunks look. I am about to pay an audio shop around $225 for 0 Gauge wiring throughout the car. (labor + fuses n stuff included) I know that price is deep but it seems like the only way to get it done right the first time. Anyone around with decent enough experience to run the wire/build a rack so it won't look like a crackhead did it? BTW, the car is a 95 Mazda Millenia. I am gonna post pics of the bs i built for laughs

Idk why so much their labor is always high as hell, they are like one of the only shops around where I live. Everything else is almost 1.5hrs away.

ask them how much the cost of supply is. This will often make them raise it up so as to not make labor seems so high. Then when they do just offer to bring your own and just pay labor. Just a hunch is all, maybe worth a shot?

Check the competition page, there are lots of members out East that would lend a helping hand

Ty, ill check it out. Before I even said anything about them installing it they said 125 for the wire though. And then I think it was $20 per foot...I'm not sure I can't remember that well.

fuck that, buy your own wire and bring it in. Just make sure to get material cost so they don't try to raise the price on labor when you bring your own wire in.

Edit: better to just find someone to help lol, or DIY //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Not sure if this is a good idea or not but on craigslist around here I see ads put in the electronics section by installers looking for side work.

Whatever you do, make sure they know what the hell they are doing before letting them touch your ride. Get references if possible and pictures of past work. If they don't have any, that should be a big red flag. Good installers always have pictures of their good work. Period.
