Hey guys am new to this forum and had came from layitlow a lowrider site with a stereo forum that is replied to like once a week by two people i hope here to get good and fast response ok now about my setup first of all i drive a 63 impala on airbags so my trunk space is gone for now (working on a whole new setup to make room for subs) so i have decide am going to put my subs in my back seat for now temporary only But as you can see from the title am in need of a sub or two.

My current setup:

-Running 2 batt in trunk

-All 2 gauge wire

-180amp alt

-1 hifonics 1660

-2 blown ingesnia 1800max subs

Now i want to get a 15 or 18 that can handel 1600rms or if you think the amp can take it run 2000rms. I have heard 18 hit alot deeper and that is what am looking for so need help on what to get. Price range is around 200 to 400max thanks guys

AJ:D

bought mid february so should still have warranty until this coming february but if you run more than the rated 1500rms to it as many do and something happens it is not covered..

am not what do you think should i go with 1 18 not sure what kind yet or should i go with 2 15 sd2.5 since i heard my amp really only puts out 1200rms so overall is 1 18 at 1200 to 1600rms better then the 12 i just listed for the money i heard AQ is really good

Those aq's would be a good choice. They'll most likely be louder than one 18 since you have cone area and more motor.

And yes, that amp will only do 1200. Make sure you set your gains using a DMM or you'll end up with blown subs again.

And you have room for 2 15's? They'll need around 9 cubic feet net, or 4 cubes each after displacements.

ya going in my back seat so plenty of room. and sorry to ask but what is a DDM kind of a newbie at this so i came to you guys to help and so far so good so 2 15s sd2.5 it is now while i got you and you seem like you know your stuff i really need some help with my amp setting. I really have no idea what any of them do i have just been turning knobs to what i think sounds loader when really i want deep bass i want it to beat in my chest not so much sound really load so if could help me out with my setting it would help out a lot

so here is what i got

-Level

-Phase

-Bass EQ

-Sub sonic

-Low pass

Sry about all the questions just really dont know who to ask

Thank you AJ

bass eq do not turn it up leave it all the way to the left low pass and subsonic depends on box tuning really and a little nit of personal preference..phase leave at 0 level is where your dmm comes in a digital multi meter to get your rated rms to the subs or set it by ear ido..

1200-1600 watts is the 'sweet spot' for most of today's top subs. You have a hundred or more subs to chose from. Give us more info on what you want out of your system, if you have any chance of getting a response that isn't linked to their own for-sale ad. Otherwise, stick around the boards for a while and get your own feel for what you are looking for in a subwoofer.

Nice car choice. But if you are willing to fill the backseat with subs, you need more friends. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

lol i do not drive this car everyday and i can fit 3 up front if i have to lol but anyways when you say what i want i want deep deep bass and as of right now i have no box i plan to build the box after i get the subs. I have not heard a bad thing about the AQ sd2.5s so am going to get them in 15s unless you guys think otherwise. I dont know if any one can beat the price and sub quality and they must have quality because all i have heard is good things.
