Looking for Double Din / Touch screen Radio for Grand cherokee

hey guys so I think it is time to replace the radio in this truck. I have a 06 WK and wanna know what are some good quality decks to look at? Also what do you look for when Buying a touch screen and such?? I always had radio decks never a double din or touch screen. Any advice will be helpful thanks.

you look for whatever you want. usb? sirius xm? navi? aux? cd/mp3? blutooth?

id look at the new pioneer NEX series, or the cheaper alternative to those the BHS series

And what is there mid range for them too.

Thanks.

Wattage doesnt matter as a HU wont ever give out more than 20watts, but pre out voltage is something to look for which the higher end ones have. And i did list the high end and low end lines for pioneer. The nex serious and bhs series look at sonic electronix. The nex goes from 4100NEX-8100NEX and bhs from 1700BHS-5700bhs i think

Best deck for you is not necessarily the best deck for everyone else.

What is your budget?

What will rest of your system include? Amp? Speakers? etc. What types/models?

As far as "watts and such", if you are connecting mediocre speakers directly to the head-unit, "watts and such" in the deck won't matter much. Choose on features.

Do you have to have NAV?

How important is EQ and time-alignment to you?

Pioneer and Alpine's "top of the line" for convenience & features may or may not be their top of line for SQ.

Sounds like you have settled on a double-din touchscreen for whatever reason. So that is a start.

Many consider Pioneer's current best DD HU to be the AVIC-8000NEX.

Budget: 500

rest of system: Amp, Interior upgraded speakers --Amp I have a JVC 1000w 4 chan I can use Speakers IDK yet as I need help choosing some

Nav: No I have a stock Radio single cd player. I would like a really good EQ and Time Alignment??

Size: I should add something close to 7"

I was talking to a rep from crutchfield he recommended: Kenwood Excelon DDX5901HD

Crutchfield has their dd for like $400 more than anywhere else so thats why he recommeneded that its all you can afford on their site thats decent for $500.

Try the pioneer 4000nex or avh-5700bhs both in your price range

Yes I know crutchfield is expensive. And I have other places I can buy for 100-200 dollars cheaper. So I just put a budget of 500 but will spend the money for a really good Head unit. I see getting one with Nav will shoot up the price like 300 to 500 so I dont really need nav.

Based on your budget, I would look at the Pioneer AVH series at Sonicelectronix (and other non-Crutchfield sites).
Start here:pioneer AVH | Sonic Electronix Search

Then filter down by features (bluetooth? HD radio?, etc)
Thanks I will take a look now. But I will spend money if needed. The prices on some sites is there, but I know I can find it for 100-200 dollars less. so then Ill say a budget of 700

Kenwood Excelon DDX5901HD what do you think about the one he recommended. He says when Buying a head unit he always goes with Kenwood. Are they better than Pioneer? I always had either Alpine or Pioneer decks. I always thought Kenwood was cheapy

Try Crutchfields outlet some good deals I got mine for like 175 bucks not sure what the issue was but looks and runs fine box looked good maybe a return of some kid /shrug works great for me so.

Hes nuthugging, kenwood was amazing back in the day and hes old school, some people HATE on pioneer because they have a pico fuse and have "noise issues" but it usually user error and people complain because they dont know better. Some will say alpine is the best. But all in all theyre all equal to the average joe and pioneers seem to have more to offer at an affordable price.

If its going to be a average setup then even a pioneer avh-270bt will do fine and its of the year.

As far as getting a good one it will cost 600$+ especially the nice nex series.

Kenwood excellon double dins are good also and alpine are just not to familliar with all the model series.
