I have a dc xl 18, I know alot of people on hear arnt a fan of kicker solo x's but do you think the solo x will out perform the xl? and what are some pros and cons of the solo x woofer

It really depends, the solox could very well out spl the xl but I don't think it will be as easy to sound good with it.

I'd go for a sure thing and grab some shocker sigs or dd 9500's

there are many other factors that come into play here..... one cannot just put one specific sub against another sub without taking the enclosure, electrical, amplifier, and vehicle into perspective.... pros of solo x- field replaceable cone, square cone= more surface area, takes a good bit of wattage, cons of solo x- not much excursion, highly overpriced, not the best materials are used in them. Dont know much about the dc xl but I would definatly take the dc over the kicker any day.

Ive always liked Kicker subs.I dont see anything wrong with them.I run a set today from time to time, as im always changing things around.Try it out, and see how it sounds to you.It may be what you really are searching for rather than listening to others opinions.I ve been told that infinity tweeters s u c k, but i beg to differ as i bought a set, and have been running them for the last 5yrs, and wouldnt have it any other way.Kickers have been around for years, and the best came from Stillwater OK,rt here in the ole usa.If you like it, and within your budget, id say try it out.Recone the Kicker wouldnt be hard to find, or get a hold of either?

the plan is to run 2 solo x 18's on a dc12k with a dc power 270 alt, 4 d3100's right now im only running the 2 xl 18's on 2 t1500bdcp but ivv hear it on the 12k, the enclosure for the solo x will be around 16 cubes and its going in my escalade, my sub builder is a dc dealer and he recones my subs but he said he can also do the solo x so im not worried there. how would you guys say it should be tuned to box wise, will they be able to handle the 12k for short amounts of time say a min or 2?

there is much better to be had for less money.... I do like the field replaceable cones though. I would recommend atomic just because of what I know their subs are capable of. I ordered one for myself.... If you were able to find a great deal on a solo x go for it....
