Looking for around 800-1000 watts at 4 ohms

Any ideas on what would push that? Would the differnce between 2 ohms and 4 be noticeable? How much should i expect to pay?

what subs? might be able to wire to 1 ohm rather than 4 ohms. an amp will push probably twice the power at 2 ohms over 4 ohms. save cost on buying an amp that does 2400w at 1ohm and 800 at 4 ohms. could pay $100-$1000.

yes, id much rather suggest a class d at 1ohm then trying to find that power at 4. (if its possible)...if you have a budget, look for a 2 channel like a fosgate 800.2

Haha, you're always saving me with these questions. I'm going with an Fi SSD 12, fully loaded so it can handle probably 900-1000 watts. I was looking at 4 ohms, since it would sound better than one ohm? But I did notice that the one ohms amps were alot cheaper. I'm running on stock electric so I was looking at class d. Would there be a noticible difference between running at one ohm and four?

Haven't heard good things about the hifonics, but is the brutus line any good? Hifonics Brutus BRZ1200.1D, BRZ 1200.1D Class D Car Amplifier/Amp looks like i could even run it at 2 ohms, and it would be good for the sub.

price... maybe a little bit sturdier signal at 4 ohms...i would just look for something like a saz1500d, aq1200d, something that'll give you at least 1200 at 1 ohm, set gains right and it should sound pretty awesome. one thing to think about here would be if you were thinking of possibly upgrading to 2 in the future?? may want to get something that does 1000 at 4 ohms, looking at saz3500, mmats4000.1, $$$ tho.

you can probably find a good fosgate 801s for cheap on the forums here. they do 800@4 although they're underrated so it's probably 900-1000@4

no, not really. Are you looking at 1 d2 sub? or 2 d4 subs? the 2 vc configurations that'll allow either 1 ohm or 4 ohm load. have you gotten the sub(s)? i think we need more info.

You really should wire them at 1 ohm. The only way you need that many watts at 4 ohm is mostly if you are using single voice coil subs or something like that.
