Looking for advice on a sub/amp for my car

Meh it never hurts, but if mylows is recommending a 10, I'd follow his advice. He's got WAY more experience with different subs than I do. I can speak for the ID10, that's it. Can only imagine the 12 is an improvement, but don't really know in what way.

might wanna go with a 10 inch sub if you like the tighter bass ,or maybe even an 8" sub for all that matters
this is true ,but with some smaller subs you can get the kick drum bass as some people call it better than from the frt stage, if the box is done right with a smaller sub .

I'm going to see if I can audition a 10 vs a 12. But from what I'm being told (and from a lot of what I've read online), 12" seems to compliment techno/rap a lot more since it displaces more air. My real concern was that I would attract attention, then come back to my car only to realize it has been picked clean. (Not sure if this is a rational fear, but people with loud cars tend to attract large audiences.) Honestly, I'd probably be happy with either, as a sub is better than no sub. But it's all a moot point until I go to my car in the morning and do the measurements.

What would be the minimum WxLxH I would need for a 12" to sound optimal?

And I've mentioned it before, but thanks everyone for all the help! I did not expect so many replies over such a short period.

Edit: Just read online that a vented box on a 10" can give it a boomy effect. So many options, lol

1.5 to 2.0 cubic feet for a 12 and 1.0 - 1.25 for a 10 ported ,so the box for the 10 will almost be twice as small as the box for the 12
Wow, that's a massive difference in size. Seeing as I travel a lot and make use of that trunk, I'm not sure how viable a 12" sub is.

yea if you really want your new sub to shine then go with the 10 ,the box for the 12 can be very big.the last one i did for a single 12 was 14 x 28 x 18 was 2.2 ^3 tuned to 33 hrtz and sounded great

A couple of friends of mine who bought them when they first came out have been very pleased. The P900.4 puts out more than rated, so I imagine the monoblock does as well. It's all the same basic topology.
If I go for the 10", do you recommend the d4v3 or the d2v3 with the p1000.1?

Well, I think I'm going to go for the 10". Even though I can fit the 12", it is taking about double the size of the trunk, and I move around quite often. I'll still be able to hear/feel the bass from techno/rap, right? A nice little back massage for a long drive?
