Looking for a sub but what to get

I'm looking for a sub maybe two for my crew cab powerstroke. I'm hoping to power this sub/subs with a planet audio bb2400.1. I listen to every thing from country, rock,rap,oldies just about any thing. But at times I just want that hard hitting bass. My wife isn't happy about this at all so I would like to keep it in some what of a budget. Also I will build a console/box so I don't have to run a shallow sub.i would also prefer 12s. I do have some rockferd xlc 10s but I don't think I want to put them with this amp.

How much airspace, what depth limitation, and ported or sealed box?

I am in the same process. You need to decide if you are building ported or sealed enclosure. If ported you will have space for 2 10's that dont require a lot of space or 1 12. Then decide your budget for your sub. You need to figure out what kind of airspace you are going to be able to get out the center console build. I managed to come up with 2.3 cubes before sub displacement.

Sealed and like 3 cubic feet and as for budget well not real sure let's say $200 or less for a pair. I know it's not much but need to keep the wife happy.

I'm not really of the opinion that you need all the power in a truck...

Personally I went with two type r 10s they are 125 a piece shipped but they fit my needs. When I first looked at building the console I thought I was going to be at almost 3 cubic feet but after getting more involved in the build I realized that wasn't accurate just to help your estimate out a little.

Would happen to have a pic of your console ? Cause this is going in a 2004 so your might be close to what I'm thinking. I also what to say thanks you guys have been a great help.Just looked at that tc sound and I really like that sub.

it's still in pieces it's quite a project but once I make some progress I will be posting it up here and a couple powerstroke forums. I can't help a lot in sub choices I just know type r's are cheap. I really wanted an xcon

Can your truck run that amp? With your budget i doubt you have upgraded your electrical

I think so it has two alts and two 850cc batterys. And don't let my budget for a sub fool you the truck is far from stock.
