Looking for a quick Electical Explination.

yesterday i was playing a 60htz tone for about 30 seconds

moderate volume, all processing on HU turned to 0

gain on amp was set at halfway

my inline fuse ( a 80A MAXI fuse) blew after about 30 seconds.

im new to the electrical part of car audio....just wondering why this happened with gains so low....do i need to upgrade my power wire...its only 4 gauge i believe

Gain was going up not down. If your amp was hot the fuse did its job.

PS: Not all amp gains work the same way. Some are backwards.
