Looking for a new head unit, need some help

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for a new head unit and I need some help as to what to get. I want something that has good sound quality, is compatible with music from an Android, front USB and AUX port and something less that $200 but I could extend the price if it's really worth it. I'm looking at Kenwoods and Pioneers because I've heard that they're some of the best around but other than that I don't really have a clue what to look for or where to start as I'm pretty new to car audio. Thanks for all the help!

Are you looking for single or double DIN? If double...navi?

Definitely single DIN, how is the Kenwood Excelon KDC X799? Or any of the other Excelon series for that matter? I've heard good things about them, but I've also heard that if I really want SQ then pioneer is a little bit better in that department. Opinions? Thanks for the replies!

What's the rest of your setup? Stock or after market? If you're running stock speakers, you won't notice any change in quality. A lot of units offer the features you want at a low price. Do you need any sound processing or just connectivity features?

Right not my speakers are stock but I definitely plan on upgrading them soon, and i have 2 10inch SSA Dcons, im relatively new to this, what do you mean by sound processing?

Time alignment would be good to have seeing how I plan on upgrading my speakers in the near future as well as good eq. You say go with Pioneer, any specific suggestions?
That will do it. However, if you're looking for a lot more control and a DSP is in your future, you can get a more modest deck.

Btw @NoLoud4U - what deck do you have?
Stock ford HU. Last car had a 80prs.

I'm not worried about how far the cord can go, I switch my source of music between 3 or 4 devices (me and my brothers all have different phones and cases that dont always allow an aux cord) so I want the front USB for ease of swapping those cords around rather than being limited to one or two devices. I definitely believe that the prs is worth every penny especially after what I've been hearing, I just don't have the money for it unfortunately.

Just letting you know for future reference. The cord has a USB plug in. You can put it anywhere. you can just plug a phone sync cable into the other slot.
