I decided to build a new box this weekend for my 12's. I have 2 05 12" Type R's running about 350w each. The box I built to replace the prefab box I had is 5 cu. ft. total tuned to 32hz. The box design I was given has a shared chamber with the port being on one end of the box. The port opening is 5" throught. I used 3/4 mdf to build it and it came out great. The lower bass is awesome, but the upper bass notes distort all to hell. My main question is, is it the box or the amp? I had a Fosgate 400.4 bridged to these @ 2ohms in the prefab box and they sounded tons better. I am cornfused with this completely. Also the said watts above are rated watts so I am sure the amp is overrated and not making that much. I am mainly looking for some opinions on what others think the problem is. Amp or Box? ! more thing, this is all in a 95 Tahoe port/subs facing rear. Thanks for any opinions.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif
