Adv. VS. disadvantages of using ipod in car

Hey guys, though about using an Ipod in my car. Walamart has a thing you just plug it up to your cigeratt lighter and you can play your music through your car stereo/system. Also you can still turn bass up and down etc. on the stock head unit.

im pretty sure the thing you get at walmart is rf modulated so you will still have to used the ipod to change songs and such which is a pretty bad idea while driving....so i say if your gonna do it do it in a manner that allows you to control the ipod thru the deck be it factory or aftermarket....for factory decks i know monster makes the icruze that goes thru cd changer controls aftermarket im sure you already know about.....

The kit i got at walmart that hooks up to your ipod and stereo came with a remotoe which is hooked up to the stearing wheel.

I have thought about using a Ipod as well. The best way for a head unti not specifically deisgned to use it is either on of those expenisive adapters or you cand make an extension to the Aux in plug(usually in the rear if at all). By plugging a small extension in and placing the the other plug in the front you can plug your Ipod in anytime. For example, drill a tiny hole somwhere in you front console or anythere you want and secure the extended input wire. Then anytime you want, you can just plug in your Ipod. It will probably be the best sounding way to connect it.
