I recently got new speakers, two eclipse se8355's for my doors and two se8375's for my rear. The headunit i have currently is a dual xdm-6820, it was good for my stock speakers, but not all that good for my new ones. The sound is a definite improvement over my stocks, but on songs where noise is minimal, you can hear a static coming from the tweeter of all four speakers. I'm 99 percent sure it's because my headunit doesn't have a crossover and/or has a high Total Harmonic Distortion rating. Looking at desctriptions of all kinds of websites i could find no mension of either of these for my headunit, so therefore im assuming they're so bad that dual does not disclose this information. I've been doing my homework, and to complement my speakers i'd like to get a new headunit with an RMS ratting of 18 to 30 per speaker, the higher the better. I'd also like to have a signal to noise ratio of 95db or higher. From what i've read, i'd also want the internal amp to have a THD of 1 percent or lower. It would also be ideal for the headunit to have a decent crossover. And also it needs to be able to play mp3's off of cd and have aux input for playing an mp3 player off of. If you guys have any recommendations as to a headunit that meets these requirements, or perhaps even one that doesn't, i'd really appreciate the input //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.
